Bandipora, August 02 (KNO) : Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti on Friday urged people to get united to save the special identity of the State. Addressing a gathering during public outreach programme at PDP office in Bandipora, she asked the people to get united in order to save the special identity of the State, which is under threat right now. “I had also requested Dr. Farooq Abdullah for having an All-Party meeting so that we could devise a strategy that how to save Article 35-A and how to control the prevailing situation. But before we could call an All-Party meeting, Farooq Abdullah was called by ED for questioning related to an old case,” she said. She said that New Delhi wants to create fear among the leadership of Kashmir and that is why they opened an old case against Farooq Abdullah. “It has become more important now to have an All-Party meeting so that we could come on the same platform to save the identity of the state and I also urge workers to get united at the grassroots level as well,” she said. Mehbooba said that her party will stand against any move aimed to attack the special identity of Kashmir. The gathering was also addressed by senior PDP leader Nizamuddin Bhat. (KNO)
